Experience history
Welcome to the historic Domaine de la Closerie des Roses, located near Québec City and Île d’Orléans, on the province’s oldest roadway, the New France Route.
In addition to the beauty and subtle charm of the stately Québécois-style home and its elegant outbuildings, this delightfully romantic site offers history in equal measure. In 1652, the land of the estate was granted to Jean Plante, originally from Pouancé in France, and was transferred in 1776 to the Alsacian soldier, Jean Baptiste Ebacher Baker. In 1869, Dr. Louis-Nérée Gravel, skilled physican and mayor of his native village, Château-Richer, drew up the plans for the estate. The period furniture, acquired in great part from the Château Frontenac, will take you back in time.
Your hostess, Geneviève Hut, firmly believes that each guest is unique and offers a variety of accommodations to meet your expectations: two suites, one room, and a loft (allowing privacy even in quadruple occupancy).
