Papineauville, a village founded in&nbsp 1896, has now become a municipality in&nbsp 2000, after being merged with Sainte-Angélique. This municipality, like many others along road&nbsp 148, has the Outaouais River and, on the other side of it, Ontario as a south border. There is no official source as to where the name of the municipality comes from. However, we know that it was named Papineauville to honour Louis-Joseph Papineau's family for sure. Nowadays, this municipality lives off agriculture and off the establishment of several important industries. If you stop in the area, take advantage of your stay to enjoy Cerf-volenfête in February, or visit the Festival de peinture, which gives you the opportunity to see painters work in from of your eyes.
