Ville-Marie was the name of Montréal from its creation in&nbsp 1642&nbsp to the beginning of the&nbsp 18th&nbsp century. The borders of this city, which became a borough of Montréal, are those of the Montréal at that time. This is why the city became the heart of Montréal and its nerve centre.
