There are six distinct cities which make it up: Greater Bangor, Katahdin, Lincoln Lakes, Moosehead Lake, Sebasticook Valley and Southern Piscataquis. The most known city located in this area is the city of Bangor, small but offering a rich cultural contribution. Also, the Lincoln city is recognized as being a sportsman's and boater's paradise.

Cross-country skiing, fishing, golf, camping, hunting, kayak, canoe are only some of the activities placed at your disposal in the area. Festivals taking place at Springfield, Greenville and the Piscataquis Valley enable you to discover the sights, sounds, craft industry and the special tastes relative to this area.

• Breakneck Ridge Farm: Possibility of guided tours to discover adult deers and their cubs. Discover the delicious maple products and dairy ice cream with the maple syrup coulis and take the train to meet the American buffalo. In the city of Blanchard.
• Treworgy Family Orchard: To visit: apple orchard, petting zoo including llama, goats, sheep, turkeys, horses and donkeys. In the city of Levant.
• Goldenrod Farm: Discover an authentic Maine family farm. They have sheep, goats, cows, rabbits, turkeys and a llama which takes care of the other animals. In the city of Sherman.
